Iceland, on the mid atlantic ridge is slowly being torn apart as the North American plate and Eurasian plate move away from each other. This, together with a northerly latitude of 66 degrees, has created a unique landscape which is made for the outdoors and the photographer who savours the beauty of landscape and the geothermal activity. Geysers, fumaroles, ice caps, tundra, raging torrents, waterfalls – Iceland has them all and more. And of course the Auroras!
